Frequently Asked Questions
Are you taking new clients? +
Yes, we are. We have availability for Individual, Partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, Non-Profit, and Trust and Estate returns.
How much does tax preparation cost? +
We charge by the form, so the more complicated your return, the more it will cost. Call 503-239-0659 for a fairly accurate price quote.
How much should I contribute to my retirement? +
We are not financial planners. We can tell you the tax benefits and maximum contribution amounts for retirement accounts, but a financial planner is best for a comprehensive plan. We can recommend some planners.
I am selling my house/rental property/stocks. How much should I save for taxes? +
This requires an appointment with a tax preparer. The tax owed depends on purchase price, ownership duration, income use, and other taxable income. We offer a free hour of consultation for tax clients.
I moved here from a different state. Can you still do my taxes if there is an out of state return? +
Yes. We can do returns for any state in the US and also for clients who live abroad.
I haven't filed for a few years—can you help me? +
Yes we can! Start with an appointment. We can contact the IRS and states to determine when you last filed and what is needed to catch up. We can also help if you don't have all your documents.
Can I claim my brother/mother/boyfriend on my tax return? +
This depends on the person's relationship to you, their income and support, how long they lived with you, and whether anyone else could claim them. Call us to discuss your specific situation.
What are your hours? What if I can't make it during business hours? +
Our hours change depending on the time of year and are listed on our website. If you cannot make it during business hours, call us and we will work out a time. We also offer remote work via our secure portal.
